The Lake Superior Binational Program has released a new document entitled, “Lake Superior Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation.”
This Report synthesizes available science and identifies adaptation strategies and actions for Lake Superior ecosystems. This information will inform future binational lakewide strategies under the Lakewide Action and Management Plan. The information will also help and inform the work of organizations on climate change adaptation activities and actions. In addition, US states, tribal or federal agencies can consider incorporating these strategies and actions into Great Lakes Regional Initiative state/tribal Lake Superior Lakewide Management Plan capacity grants.
The Report provides a structure to track and share climate science related to Lake Superior, and contributes to the shared commitment to assemble, assess and report on existing scientific information concerning Lake Superior.
